Countries I Want to Live In

Prompt #4: Where would you like to live one day?

Lately, I’ve been wanting to travel to more countries, so I’ve become more intent on doing research. I’ve already seen so many photos, travel itineraries, bucketlists, historical sites, and lots of interesting stories about popular countries to visit. I have only been to 2 countries (including my own), so I really have so much more to cover.

When I read this prompt, the first thought that came to me was: what countries I wanted to live in. You can actually answer this prompt by describing a dream home, or maybe just characteristics of the surroundings, like maybe the seaside or at the edge of a mountain. But since countries are always at the back of my mind, I’m listing down 3 countries I want to live in someday, maybe not permanently, but even for a few months or years at a time.

In a matter of hours on Friday, Typhoon Haiyan completely devastated parts of the central Philippines. It was one of the strongest storms ever recorded. The death toll is estimated up to 10,000 with hundreds of thousands more displaced. The country has declared a “state of calamity.”

We do appreciate it!

Celebrating Independence

To this country, who fought hard to stand on its own feet, congratulations to 115 years of maintaining that independence. 🙂

I also want to greet the relation-ally independent men and women, especially the single ladies. You are so loved by God that He wants to protect you from the pains that wrong relationships bring. He is preparing you and the one meant for you. Just wait. God will amaze you when you finally meet the one (or realize that someone you know is actually the one).

This waiting time is not for nothing. You are going through great change, beautiful, wonderful change. You are being reformed into a person so much like God himself. And when the right time comes, and God knows when, He will open not just your eyes, but also your heart to welcome that special person. 🙂

And for those who are in a relationship, stay loyal but stay true to yourself. Even in the middle of that relationship, establish a sense of independence. Don’t be overly attached and dependent on your other half. You don’t have to do everything with that person; you don’t have to be with that person all day; and you don’t have to base your life decisions on what the other person wants for you. Do what you want because if they truly love you, they will support you as long as you’re not hurting yourself.

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. -Galatians 5:1

Happy Independence Day, everyone! :))
