Character & Leadership, Heiress of His Promise

Fill in the blank.

I really appreciated how Coach Enrico presented the preaching earlier today about adultery and lust. It began from the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:8 which says,

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Reconnect

I was browsing through old notes and unfinished write-ups where I found this and decided to complete it:

This morning I woke up, opened my laptop and tried to open Facebook as I usually do. But today there’s a pop-up on my laptop saying I owe 200 pesos to my service provider, hence my internet connection is “restricted”. I had to pay the remaining amount so that the connection could be returned.

Spiritual Shipwreck

I feel like a wreckage, irreparable
Just floating in the oceans
My parts continue to float away
Further and further apart
My soul settles into the depths
And the salt waters consume me
Devouring my thoughts and wishes

I become slave to the waves
Without a solid rock to hold on to
I am but a distant memory
Without feelings, without reality
I will never reach the shore
That I wanted to dock onto
I can feel my purpose shifting
My thoughts are giving up

But I remember the Great Sailor
Who built me for great journeys
I remember the coordinates
My path before the storm surged
The destination before my implosion
My beginning, the birth and rebirth
Then something suddenly snaps

Underneath me the waters move
My planks and sails return to me
I am being rebuilt out of nothing
And then lastly, the rudder
It fastens to me smoothly
And my deepest thoughts are filled
With a new direction

And from afar I see my Sailor
My Guide who directs me
And in my heart I knew
That my recklessness has not stopped Him
From bringing me to where He planned to
We weren’t bound to just any island
We are headed to a great Pangaea

Creative Writing, Heiress of His Promise, Tumblr Throwback

On a Hill, on the Cross

The world and its promises are fake

It tries to captivate me with itss lies

Once, I was easily tantalized in failures

I was so easily swayed to its beat

But now, I’m fully aware of the truth

My eyes have been opened, my heart renewed

Thoughts and mindsets: broken and being replaced

Now I’m a stronger fighter

Being built to not back down

I am restructured to soar into victory

He has given me a new chance to succeed

And I will not let this opportunity pass

I want to make the most of this great destiny

My inheritance is heaven!

I can’t live a life that’s less than worthy

It’s time to let go of the old self I posed

The butterfly within me longs to be free

And it deserves to be free

It’s freedom has already been paid 2,000 years ago

By a great Man, on a hill, on the Cross

spiritualinspiration:

God is constantly calling us to higher places in Him. He wants us to know Him more. He wants us to know His ways, walk in His ways, and experience His victory.

The apostle Paul said in Philippians that he was pressing on toward the goal of Christ’s calling. How did he press forward? In verse 13 he says, “One thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.” See, in order to press forward, we have to let go of the weight of the past. We let go by forgiving and choosing not to dwell on things that can hold us back. We have to lighten our load, so to speak, so that we can rise higher in the things God has for us.

Today, if you are struggling in an area, ask God what you need to let go of. Sometimes, we need to let go of the good as well as the bad. “Good” can be the very thing that keeps you from “great.” Let go of the past, forgive, and press forward and upward to the prize of the high calling of Jesus Christ!
